“The Pleasure Principle” is the name of a Janet Jackson song from 1986, and it’s also the title of the 2015 Trends Report from Andrew Freeman & Co., the hospitality marketing and public relations agency that each November reveals its predictions for what’s going to be hot in restaurants and hotels for the coming year.
So what’s a pleasure in 2015? Participation and personalization—the Millennials’ desires to know and be known—pervades much of hospitality marketing now, Freeman says.
To compile each year’s trends list, Freeman and his “resident trendologists” Cia Glover and Candace MacDonald poll experts, talk to attendees and peers at meetings, conferences, and events, ask hotel, restaurant, event, and F&B industry leaders, and… “we go out a lot,” Freeman says.
