London’s new skyscraper, The Shard, opened to the public on February 1. Visitors are now allowed to visit the tower’s observation deck, but they will have to wait a while longer to spend the night in Western Europe’s tallest building. Later this year, the Shangri-La Hotel, at the Shard, London, will open on floors 34 to 52 of architect Renzo Piano’s 95-story, glass-clad tower. Plans call for 185 guest rooms, 17 suites with butler service, and meeting space for 120 attendees.
