BCD Meetings & Events, Chicago, has expanded its reach into the life sciences meeting market with the acquisition of Plan 365 Inc., a marketing logistics company focused on both pharmaceutical and high-tech clients.
The Raleigh, N.C., company, which brings almost 50 new employees under the BCD M&E umbrella, specializes in promotional educational meetings, with expertise in speaker bureau management, virtual meetings, web conferencing, program logistics, and compliance reporting. Carey Barnes, who founded Plan 365 a decade ago, will continue with the company.
“Acquisition is instrumental to our strategic growth plan, and Plan 365’s client-centric approach and overall company culture are a perfect fit for us,” said BCD M&E Global President Scott Graf.
This is the second recent acquisition for BCD M&E aimed at the life sciences industry. In August 2014, the company purchased Universal Meeting Management Inc. and, as a result, created the Life Sciences Center of Excellence, which provides clients with the service and technologies to manage compliance and audits in the regulated life sciences industry. BCD M&E’s Life Sciences Center of Excellence is also located in Raleigh.
