During the annual national service managers’ meeting at the Westin North Shore in Wheeling, Ill., participants completed five projects benefiting four nonprofit organizations that support U.S. Armed Forces and veterans. A total of 725 individuals and families were served as a result of this work. In addition, those participating commented on how good it felt to spend time helping others and making a difference in the community.

Altour planned a full-ship cruise charter, with custom itinerary, for a 1,500-attendee national convention. The event included an onboard vendor trade show, training classes in new technology, a general session, and time for networking and enjoying the destinations. At each port, Altour brought on new speakers and entertainment.
Universal WorldEvents
In May 2013, Universal WorldEvents produced a national sales meeting and product launch, which took place over a two-week period at the Swan and Dolphin hotels in Orlando, Fla. Among the themed events was a “Miami Style” white party, where a generic breakfast and lunch space was converted into a “white” brand experience to promote the transition of the meeting into a focus on the product. Since the space was used for breakfast and lunch, there was just a short, four-hour window to turn it around, but the outcome was stunning. White satin liners, an LED dance floor, bespoke 42-inch digital LED picture frames, intelligent lighting, and a array of entertainment and food and drink led to a very successful event, with all attendees dressed head to toe in white.

Advance Auto Parts turned to MotivAction to plan its Leadership Forum in Charlotte, N.C. The event, with 4,712 participants, took over the city’s convention center and used 22 area hotels.
